Dog Licenses
Dogs that come to the dog park should be
licensed. Dog licenses can be obtained
through the respective county treasurers’
offices or at local agents authorized by the
treasurers to sell licenses. Most county
treasurers have the application available
for download on their website. The cost for
an annual license is only $6.00. Throughout
the year, the Bureau of Dog Law canvasses
the area for dogs without licenses and the
fines and penalties can be as much as
$500.00, so it is a small ounce of
prevention to purchase a license. The
Dauphin County Treasurer's Office maintains
a list of all licenses issued and if a dog
should become separated from its owner or
the owner needs to be identified for any
reason, the license fills the bill. |
