Meet our Playmate of the Month

Tank

Hi! My name is Tank and I am a seven month old Siberian Husky. I have a mommy and daddy that I take very good care of; I'm their pack leader. I wake them up at the crack of dawn with my howling to ensure that they start their days early and are on time, I take them for walks to help them stay in shape, I leave my hair everywhere so that they have something to clean up when they are bored and I only chew on the nicest most expensive objects that I can fit in my mouth. Without me, their lives would be boring.
 

 

Dolce

Hi! My name is Dolce, and I'm a miniature dachshund puppy. I have a lot of energy and love to play with toys and with other dogs. I'm a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, watch out! I'm a spitfire! I've already been to the dog park once and can't wait to go again!

 

Deko

Deko is the newest addition to the family. We adopted our 4 month old German Shepherd from the Humane Society earlier this month. She is so much fun! Her favorite things to do: hang out with mom, dad a big brother (another German Shepherd), chew on her teething keys and eat. So far, she's a whopping 30 plus pounds and counting. We look forward to hanging out at the dog park!
 

Maggie Moo

This is Maggie Moo. She Loves the dog park and is there sometimes twice a day! She turned 1year old in February.

 

Barkley

Barkley is 1-1/2 years old and has never met a person or dog that wasn’t his best friend. He was rescued from the Humane Society and quickly became our best friend too. Barkley loves to play with his tennis ball and fetch his sticks. He can hardly wait for the park to open so he can frolic and make lots of new friends.

 

Denver

It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown. Meet Denver - Astro Rocky Mountain High. He was born on Easter Sunday 2008 via emergency C-Section. He is a show dog competing in conformation and soon he will be competing in obedience. He is a certified therapy dog through KPETS. He's a silly and happy l'il guy. He lives with his pack mates, Lucy, Dexter, Casey & Maggie.

 

Maggie

Maggie is a energetic 10 month old Boxer who we love dearly. Maggie loves to go for walks and loves children. Maggie also loves to take showers.
Maggie cannot wait till the doggy park opens and she will be able to run and play with other dogs.
 

 

Lulu

LuLu is a 3 yr old ShihTzu/Miniature Poodle Mix. She loves people, pickles and snuggling. LuLu think's she's a big dog, so when you see her at the park, shhh! it's opposite day and all of the big dogs are in the little dog section.
 

 

Tobbie

Hi, I’m Tobbie. I am a rescue dog who has been living with my family for about four or five years. I love sitting by the window and watching for my friend, Shyla. Sometimes we get to play in the backyard. Other times we go for a walk around the block. We can’t wait for the Lower Paxton Dog Park to open in May. I want to be there when it opens and meet some more friends. See you there!!

 

Kaci

Hi, my name is Kaci and I am 9 years young. I am a black lab/husky mix and am moving to Linglestown with my mom and dad in May...just in time to enjoy the new dog park! While I'm there, I'll most likely sniff the air or sunbathe after I get tired from running around during the first 5 minutes. I like to watch squirrels, bunnies and birds, but most of all, I love being with people. One of my favorite things to do is go for walks and rides in the car. I'm so excited to be able to prance around outside and make new friends!
 

 

Copper Jackson ("Jack")

This is Copper Jackson, affectionately called “Jack”. He is a red standard poodle and will be 2 years old in May. Jack became part of our family at 8 months old and is such a good boy. He had not been socialized having been a kennel breeder dog. Once cleaned up, and quickly trained to a collar and leash, Jack blossomed. Although he does not have a mean bone in his body, his bark will keep strangers at bay. He loves to run and play with other dogs… as long as mom is nearby. Jack has never been a roamer, he stays close to home. Jack is surely looking forward to the Happy Tails Dog Park, and you can be sure his tail will be wagging!!

 

Wanted for petty larceny

Cheyenne

If she is outside with her folks she goes into her petty larcenous mode. She steals things from her closest friends and proudly brings it home. If it's in their yard or garage it's fair game. If its gone they know to check Cheyenne's house where she probably has her head on it sleeping.
Cheyenne also has chores. Every day she brings in the newspaper and when she hears the mail truck she patiently waits by the mailbox. The mailman has to pat her head and then she takes the mail and brings it in to get her pay check, a Milkbone.

 

My name is Simon Ray and I like to play.  I am a 3-year old Bichon Frise.  I like to run with the big dogs so this new dog park really excites me.  I live in Colonial Hills with my mom and dad and my good friends next door, Jack, Molly and Shyla.  I love to chase squirrels and rabbits and have gone head-to-head with Mr. Groundhog.

There is a Russian Wolfhound down the street that likes to use me as a play toy. I am a lap dog and love people and playing with my loofa dogs and my robot dog friend that live at my house.
 

Tucker is a Border Collie-Lab mix and was born in a barn in Perry County. He was rescued along with his eight brothers and sisters, who all reside in Central PA.  Tucker enjoys curling up by the fireplace and listening to NPR public radio. He loves making angels in the snow and herding his sister Kallie.  Tucker has a good eye for tennis balls and loves chasing rabbits.  He is currently studying Frisbee and wants to learn agility when the weather gets warmer.

Shyla

Shyla sends us this from her retreat in the hills:

I am a one and a half year old Shiloh Shepherd, born in Cool Springs. Pa. I now live with my family and friend/nemesis Kiki the cat in Colonial Hills. I have my own bedroom and watch out the window for my friend Tobie the Golden Retriever to come and play. I love children especially the grandbabies, Molly and Elisabeth. I give them kisses and love it when they tickle my soft fur. My other favorites are tennis balls, stuffed animals and treats from the dinner table. I am working toward my certificate to become a therapy dog so I can make people smile. I can't wait to see you all at Happy Tails.

Max

Max loves fast cars and fast women. He is currently working on his 'sit' and 'stay' to impress all the gals at Happy Tails Dog Park. Watch out, ladies !!

Buddi

Buddi is an English Beagle or Harrier, and she needs a little exercise after laying around all winter.  Looking forward to our new dog park!

Mali is a nine month old Australian Cattle Dog. She loves to go to Happy Tails and do what she does best... heard. She loves to make friends - both K9 and people, play chase, fetch, watch birds and/or planes (whatever is flying over head), stalk insects and worms, and nap on the sofa. Mali was adopted from Molly's Place in Mechanicsburg, PA in April 2009.

Belle is a two year old Boxer. She is Mali's "cousin". Belle lives outside of Baltimore and doesn't get to run around very much, but after she visited Happy Tails, she and her family hope to find a dog park like Happy Tails close to their home for Belle to run, play, and make new friends.

Jeter

This is Jeter, who is a 21 month old Siberian Husky. He lives in the Harrisburg area near Progress. He has been going to the park 4-5 times a week since it opened. He absolutely loves it there. You can usually see him running and wrestling with General, Tye, Sam, Banjo, and Cuma.

Meatball

Meatball is a 4 year old male. We've been told that he is part lab, boxer, husky, Australian Shepherd, we think he is half dog, half squirrel. He is crazy energetic and the most loveable sweetheart. He is the smartest, fastest, hungriest, funniest, squirreliest, sweetest dog in the whole world. We <3 u Meatball!

 

Gretel

Hi my name is Gretel. I am a 3 1/2 year old Boxer/Bassett Hound Mix. My Mommy and Daddy adopted me when I was 7 weeks old. The kind people from Castaway Critters rescued me from a high kill shelter in West VA. I am a very fun girl and my Mom says I'm a real goofball too. I LOVE to play with other dogs so I am excited that we have a dog park so close to us now. I'm looking forward to making some new friends !!!

 

Dixie

Dixie is a yellow Labrador Retriever.  She hangs out with the Boy Scouts of Troop 302 and helped the troop and their families landscape our new dog park. We owe a big thanks to Dixie and her people. THANKS DIXIE !! To see pictures of Troop 302 working to make our park so gorgeous, click here.

Taylor

This is Taylor she is an 11 year old pit bull. She is water obsessed. If you say swim she is ready. She loves to be a beach bum and goes Ocean City Md twice a year. She has two brothers who are cats and loves to give them full body baths! She hopes to see everyone at the dog park.

Phoebe

Phoebe is 1 1/2 years old. She was adopted 8 months ago. For the first 10 months of her life she had 7 homes, poor thing. There is nothing wrong with her - one person thought she was too frisky, another wanted a more macho type of dog, etc. She had a bit of separation anxiety at first, but is doing much better. She is super sweet - loves all people and DOGS! She likes to wear pretty collars and dresses LOL. Phoebe can't wait to run at the dog park. She has been eyeing up that picture of Fred. Watch out, Fred!

 

Bailey

Hi! I’m Bailey, nicknamed Boo, a 7-year-old SGRM (single Golden Retriever male) seeking FWB NSA.
Favorite book: Marley & Me.
Favorite movie:Best in Show.
Favorite song: A Dog’s Life.
Favorite expression: Wanna’ go for a ride?
Turn-ons include extreme snow-diving, peanut butter & banana woofer sandwiches, and cuddling.
Biggest turn-off: cats.

Tucker

Tucker is a one year old Pug. He was rescued from a not-so-nice place near Pittsburgh when he was just a baby. He had some health problems when he was rescued but with a lot of love and care he’s now perfectly healthy and happy. Tucker loves playing fetch with his favorite wolf stuffed animal, going for walks and giving kisses to everyone.

Chester

Hi I'm Chester, I am a rescue dog from Joshua's Rainbow. I am 1 1/2 years old and I just love my Mom & Dad. They have bought me so many woofers I have them is special places all over the house. I share all my toys with my big brother Benny. He is a cat, but I still love him and like snuggling with him. I love going outside and chasing the rabbits in the yard and saying hello to my girlfriend Lady, the mini poodle, next door. I can't wait to go to Lower Paxton Dog Park and make a whole bunch of new friends!

 

Tonto

Hi I'm Tonto, a Bassett Hound. After a long day of therapy dog visits to local hospitals, nursing homes and Alzheimer’s Units, this is what I enjoy best.
Hey mom, can you fetch my slippers please? Oh and a tummy rub would be delicious! Who's a good boy?

 

Cohen

Hello my name is Cohen and I am a 2 year old Golden Retriever. I enjoy laying outside, playing ball with my dad (although I can go get the ball, I never bring it back) and afternoon naps with my mom. I am very excited to come and play at the Happy Tails dog park and get some much needed exercise. I hope to meet some new friends on opening day, see you there!
 

Roscoe

Roscoe is a three year old Yorkshire Terrier "person". Weighing in at a petite nine pounds, Roscoe loves chasing squirrels in the yard and enjoys neighborhood walks to visit his buddies TJ, Zoey, Nala and Boo. Roscoe has a special place in his heart for mail carriers and the treats they keep in their pockets. Roscoe hates baths and lives by the golden rule: "Never trust a vacuum cleaner". Most nights Roscoe curls up in bed with his loving family and is very generous about sharing the pillow.

 

CT

PLAYMATE OF THE MONTH

My name is CT (short for Clear Toy Max) and I am 3 years old. I live in Colonial Park with my mommy and daddy. They didn't have a dog for a long, long time so it took me awhile to train them. I love to sit on their lap and have them pet me and play with my toys especially my stuffed donut. I can't wait for Happy Tails Dog Park to open so I can meet some new friends.

Kallie

Kallie is a German Shepherd mix who was rescued from a shelter in Virginia. She came up north to Pennsylvania in a pickup truck when she was very young.  She is gentle with everyone except her brother Tucker, who she teases endlessly. Kallie tried learning how to play chess but all the pieces look like pawns now and she had to give it up.  She loves home-baked bread and chasing ice cubes around the kitchen. 

TJ

TJ is a 4 year old ENERGETIC American Lab. He hails from Elysburg, PA, where he was the runt of a litter of 11 beautiful pups. TJ's hobbies include eating, chasing squirrels, eating, playing with neighborhood buddies, eating, going for long walks, and swimming in the summer (especially in Cheyenne's fish pond). Since his two "boys" are no longer living at home, TJ is VERY anxious for Happy Tails to open so he can have some real fun with new friends.

 

Isabelle

Isabelle is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She has that certain je ne sais quoi, a real mystery woman. Isabelle is very private and wishes to remain anonymous for now, we think because she has so many admirers. (if Isabelle is really her name...) 

Fred

Fred is a sun worshipper and especially loves to sunbathe in the buff when he thinks no one is looking.  This photo was taken by a National Enquirer photographer from a distance.  We dare not say anymore until the lawsuit with them is settled.
